Renewal of Firearm Licence Forms
Download the official SAPS forms required when renewing an existing firearm licence at your local police station.
Important: Applications must ideally be submitted 90 days before your licence expires. Download, print, and complete all forms in black ink before visiting your nearest police station.
SAPS 518(a) – Application for Renewal of a Firearm Licence, Permit, Certificate or Authorization
The official renewal application form under Sections 24, 35, 49 and 63 of the Firearms Control Act, 2000. Required for all firearm licence renewals submitted at your local police station.
Annexure A – Annexure to Renewal of Firearm Licence (Section 24)
Supplementary declaration form required with every firearm licence renewal. Includes firearm description, certification of compliance, safe storage details, and motivation for continued need — to be sworn before a police official.
Annexure A – Safe Keeping Declaration (Regulation 86)
Declaration in terms of Regulation 86 of the Firearms Control Regulations, 2004. Confirms that you are in possession of a SABS-approved safe that meets the requirements of SABS Standard 953-1 and 953-2.
